Announcements Letters of Invitation-MSSPAcceptance letters for Math/Science Program for the upcoming 2013-14 school year will be sent by mail to students by March 1, 2013. Once received, please return the enclosed Letter of Intent to the school promptly.
Transfer students please note: Transfer students who were not selected by lottery to participate at Marsteller but who applied and were accepted by other PWC specialty programs will not receive any mailed notification from Marsteller. RETURNING MSSP TRANSFER STUDENTSAll returning sixth and seventh grade TRANSFER students enrolled in the MSSP who plan to continue at Marsteller in the program for the 2013-14 school year MUST complete a *LETTER OF INTENT along with the *SPECIALTY TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION FORM and submit them to their current science teachers by February 15, 2013. Both have been sent home with students this week but can also be printed from the files below.
*These forms are only required by transfer students who attend Marsteller but live in another base school attendance area. DEADLINE FOR 2013-14 APPLICATIONS is FEBRUARY 1, 2013Please be sure to submit completed applications by Friday. If you are applying as a TRANSFER student, please be sure to include a completed Transfer Request Form and Specialty Program Transportation Information Form, which can be found below. Also please include grades for the first term 2012.
Marsteller Middle School Math/Science Specialty Program Information NightMarsteller will hold a Math/Science Specialty Program Information Night Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 7-8:00 pm. There will be a slide presentation with general information about the program as well as an opportunity for parents to ask questions about the program.

...is an interest-based program where we provide students with opportunities to explore in-depth mathematical and scientific concepts while developing their critical thinking skills. ...follows the Virginia SOLs and the Prince William County curriculum (same curriculum, but because the students have a high interest, you can go broader and deeper into the topics.)
...expects students to meet academic and behavioral standards (no grades less than a "C" and no "U"s in conduct or work habits) TRANSFER STUDENT APPLICANTS for 2013 SCHOOL YEARAll new student MSSP applicants who do not reside the the attendance area zoned to attend Marsteller (Please consult PWC website under "Find My School") must fill out two additional forms in order to apply to the MSSP for the upcoming 2013 schoolyear. The SPECIALTY TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION FORM (posted below) and the county TRANSFER FORM (now only available at county sites such as Marsteller Middle School or feeder elementary schools) must be completed and submitted with applications.
County Specialty Program Information NightsPrince William County will host another Middle School Specialty Program Information Night for interested parents and students at the Kelly Leadership Center from 7-9pm. There will be a general presentation about the different programs available at different schools around the county and an opportunity to speak to representatives from each of the programs. See the county website for details. Applications to the Marsteller MSSP will be available.
