Math/Science Specialty Program Student Traits
For those of you considering applying to the Math/Science Specialty program, here are some traits we look for in our students at Marsteller:

MSSP Students:
-like to study Math and Science!
-have passed SOLS in Math and Science
-maintain at least a "C" average in Math and Science
-are willing to work hard and have excellent work habits!
-are good citizens and enthusiastic learners!

Overview
The Math/Science Specialty Program...

...is an interest-based program where we provide students with opportunities to explore in-depth mathematical and scientific concepts while developing their critical thinking skills.

...follows the Virginia SOLs and the Prince William County curriculum (same curriculum, but because the students have a high interest, you can go broader and deeper into the topics.)

...expects students to meet academic and behavioral standards (no grades less than a "C" and no "U"s in conduct or work habits)
County Specialty Program Information Nights
Prince William County is holding informational meetings about the specialty programs available to Middle School students on November 14 and November 29 from 7-9 p.m. at the Edward Kelly Leadership Center.  See the county website for details.  Applications to the Marsteller MSSP will be available at that time.
